PRGF® (plasma rich in platelet factors) is a regenerative therapy that exploits the effect of platelet-derived growth factors on the tissues . Platelets are the cells present in our blood that release substances – precisely growth factors – which are able to repair human body tissues such as skin, tendons and joints when they are damaged.
PRGF® in dermatology is used alone or in synergy with other methods in the presence of skin aging of the face, neck and hands.
This procedure stimulates the production of collagen and hyaluronic acid, which give the skin a more toned and smooth appearance without altering the morphology of the face.
The production of PRGF® takes place in a dedicated space in our clinic within a closed and automated system of separation and concentration, which eliminates the risk of microbial contamination.
The process involves taking venous blood from the patient: the blood sample taken is centrifuged and the cellular components are separated from the plasma rich in platelet growth factors through the electromedical apparatus. Finally, PRGF® is used on the parts of the body concerned to intradermally, i.e. by injecting small doses of platelet-rich plasma into the space between the epidermis and the dermis. The patient must undergo a blood count test before prp treatment in dermatology and the platelet count result must be higher or equal to 150×103/µl
Patients on anticoagulant therapy or with thrombocytopenia, haematological diseases, liver diseases cannot undergo prp treatment in dermatology.
Acne Scars and Traumatic Scars
Several studies indicate a significant improvement in the appearance of acne scars, as well as traumatic scars, when using PRGF®. Skin lesions can cause scar tissue, presenting aesthetic and functional problems.
A decrease in erythema and edema is observed during the treatment of acne scars with prp . In the treatment of scars, improved skin elasticity and an increase in collagen and fibroblasts are also noted.
PRGF®
Three Formulations In One Product
PRGF® liquid
Being a liquid formulation, it facilitates infiltration into the skin.
It is an activated liquid formulation which after infiltration into the skin is polymerized into a fibrin matrix which allows for the balanced and progressive release of a large number of molecules, including growth factors and other proteins. This formulation is used in treatments minimally invasive such as:
- Wound treatment
- Arterial and venous ulcers
- Diabetic foot
- Pilonidal cysts
PRGF® Clot
The growth factor-rich plasma clot is a fibrin matrix that polymerizes after controlled activation with calcium.
In combination with other formulations in the treatment of wounds and ulcers, it promotes tissue regeneration and acts as an excellent system for the balanced and progressive delivery of a large number of molecules, including growth factors and other proteins.
PRGF® Serum
Growth Factor-Rich Plasma Serum is a preparation of inert plasma proteins along with growth factors and other bioactive molecules for topical use in a cream/serum consistency.
It is used to treat ulcers, wounds and to improve the quality and health of the skin. It can be stored at 4ºC or in the refrigerator for 6 months.
Aesthetic medicine
Thanks to its content of bioactive proteins and growth factors involved in tissue regeneration, endoret ® (PRGF®) applied topically on damaged areas or areas showing signs of aging promotes cell renewal and improves the general health of the skin, being used with dermocosmetic purposes.
- Facial rejuvenation
- Hair growth
- Acne
PRGF® Gel
The growth factor-rich plasma gel with polymerized fibrin has biochemical properties similar to those of membrane and clot formulations.
The biomechanical properties of the growth factor-rich plasma gel provide support and viscosity. This innovative formulation was developed for the attenuation of mild to moderate wrinkles by intradermal or subdermal infiltration .
Plasma gel rich in growth factors can also be used to fill in atrophic scars.
